Description

Zeeuwse Visveilingen , which presents itself as Visveiling Urk, is a Dutch fish auction company with sites in Urk, Vlissingen and Harlingen. It describes itself as a fish centre for the European fish industry that serves both suppliers and buyers. Its services include sorting fish, ice sales, crate cleaning, thawing, packing and shrimp sieving. Sales run through a computer-controlled auction network linked to its administration, so traders' transactions are processed almost immediately. Buyers can join the auction and use the auction clock.
