Description
Winzergenossenschaft Groß-Umstadt , marketed as vinum autmundis, is the Odenwälder winegrowers' cooperative in the Hessische Bergstraße region of southern Hesse, where wine growing dates back some 1,700 years. It was the first winegrowers' cooperative in Hesse to receive the organic seal of the state, and it received the Bundesehrenpreis from the federal ministry. It offers wine tastings, cellar tours, vineyard hikes and a vine sponsorship scheme. A Straußwirtschaft opens in autumn with fresh Federweißer and regional dishes, and a vinotheque operates in Michelstadt.
