Veldhuizen Cheese is a farmstead cheese maker producing cave-aged artisan cheese from raw milk. Only milk from its own herd of cows and flock of sheep, grazing on its pastures, is turned into cheese at the on-farm creamery. The milk is never heated above 100 degrees, homogenized, pasteurized or separated, and the cheese contains no artificial ingredients, flavors, additives or preservatives. The company makes over 60 wheels of cheese every week and ages them from two months up to two years in a cave built into the side of a hill. Its cheeses include Dublin Karst, Jalapeno Cheddar, Bosque Blue and Redneck Cheddar, and it offers cheese making and farm tours, a cheese club and wholesale.
