Simple Soyman is a tofu and tempeh producer based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It makes fresh, handmade tofu, herb tofu and tempeh from Midwest organic, non-GMO soybeans using traditional cooking methods, and its tofu is made with nigari. The business was started in 1983 by Barb and RJ Gruenwald, who sold more than 20 items to restaurants, grocery stores and food co-ops in the Milwaukee and Madison areas. After the founders retired, new owners bought the company in early 2026 and restarted production in late March of 2026. It accepts bulk orders from grocers, restaurants and meal prep services.
