Siem van der Gragt is an organic butcher in Amsterdam, founded in 1978 and describing itself as the only ecological butcher in the city. Its farmers allow animals natural behaviour such as rooting, foraging and grazing, and feed them organic feed. The butcher selects slow-growing meat breeds, matures the meat itself and processes it in a traditional way. It is supervised by SKAL, the body that issues the organic certification, and also sells through a web shop with delivery, which has taken over 1,356 orders since 2021.
