Shaikh Alkar is a Jordanian food producer founded in 2014 that makes halawa and tahini. In 2019 it opened an automated factory in East Amman with a production capacity of up to 25 tons per day. Sesame seeds go through a five-stage sieving process and laser sorting, and the tahini is stone-ground with no additives or preservatives. The company supplies local markets and exports more than half of its output to countries including the USA, Canada, Australia, Morocco, the Arab Gulf states and Europe. Its range also covers canned food, noodles, jams, soup flavours and basmati rice.
