Salar Smokehouse is a Scottish smoked salmon producer on the Isle of South Uist in the Outer Hebrides. It opened as a small business in about 1997, with the original owner designing and building his own kilns. Its main product is Flaky Smoked Salmon, which it says has won numerous awards and is enjoyed worldwide. The company won the New Business award at the Highlands and Islands food and drink awards in 2017. Iain MacRury bought the business in 2015, and it now employs a team of six year-round, with seasonal staff at peak times.
