Prince de Bretagne is the collective brand of Breton market gardeners, created in 1970 and made up of three Breton cooperatives with 1,322 growers. It markets 145 types of fruit and vegetables, described as the widest range of vegetables in France, and about 25 percent of its output is exported. The group has produced organic vegetables since 1997, is the first producer group for organic vegetables in France and offers 77 organic vegetables. Its growers follow a charter of commitments, and some crops are grown without synthetic pesticides.
