Marumoto Sake Brewery is a Japanese sake brewery in Asakuchi, Okayama, founded in 1867 and now headed by the sixth-generation owner. It sells under brands such as Kamo Midori and the Chikurin daiginjo. Since 1987 it has grown its own Yamada Nishiki sake rice, and it aims to become a brewery that grows all its rice itself, partly with organic cultivation. Its history includes sparkling sake from 2003, exports starting that year and the brewery's designation in 2003 as a registered tangible cultural property, the first sake brewery in Okayama to receive it.
