Description

Little Bear Produce is the fresh produce brand of J&D Produce, a family business that grows and supplies vegetables, fruit and melons. Its featured products include Little Bear melons, HoneySweet onions marketed as a tearless variety, Texas-grown greens, pre-washed bagged greens and celery. The Texas greens are described as the original family specialty. The business traces back to James Bassetti, Sr., known as The Bear, and in 1984 his son Jimmy traveled to the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas to offer customers a year-round supply. Little Bear products are sold through grocery stores, and the company has a trade section for business customers.
