Kilombero Sugar Company is a sugar producer in Tanzania and part of Illovo Sugar Africa. It operates the largest sugarcane estate in the country, covering 26,000 hectares, of which about 10,000 belong to the company and about 16,000 to smallholder growers. The company produces about 126,000 tonnes of sugar a year and sources around 600,000 tonnes of cane annually from roughly 8,000 grower farmers. Its products include the Bwana Sukari brand and downstream products. It generates the energy it needs from bagasse, the residue of sugarcane.
