Kakira Sugar Limited is a Ugandan sugar producer that has added value to sugarcane since 1930 and accounts for half of national sugar production. It is one of the oldest sugar milling companies in the country and crushes over two million tonnes of cane per year. Its business lines include sugar, electricity, extra neutral alcohol, spirits and sweets. The company states that its activities support the livelihoods of over 150,000 Ugandans through employees, outgrower farmers, transporters and customers.
