Description
In Vino Veritas is a wine boutique on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, believed to be the first liquor store to open in Manhattan after Prohibition ended. The family that owns it took over in April 1997, renamed the store and spent a year renovating it. It specializes in Italian wines and also stocks wines from countries including France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Greece, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the United States, plus a range of kosher wines. Bottles are kept in a climate-controlled cellar, the store hosts free tastings, and its staff help customers pair wines with food.
