Description

Il Pungiglione is an Italian cooperative in Lunigiana that has run a welcome village since 2000, opening its doors to marginalised people and offering them a chance to start again. It works bees organically and produces honey, pollen, wax, propolis and royal jelly. Its flagship product is Lunigiana DOP honey, which it describes as the first honey to receive DOP status in Italy and the only organic DOP and fair-trade one. It also supplies equipment for beekeepers, runs a 100 kW solar plant and opens its apiary for visits.
