Fromagerie L'Ancêtre is a Quebec producer of organic cheese and butter that has processed organic milk for more than 30 years. It was founded by nine families who raise grass-fed cows and apply organic and regenerative farming practices. The company describes itself as the largest organic cheese factory in Canada. Its cheeses include cheddar aged one to four years, goat cheese, washed-rind cheese, feta and halloumi, fondue cheese, gouda, mozzarella, parmesan and Swiss, with some made from unpasteurised organic milk and some gluten-free and lactose-free.
