It was founded in 1934 by Erhard Denscheilmann and Georg Wellein, added citrus and other southern fruit to its range in 1948, and began ripening its own bananas in 1969. Its range covers fruit, vegetables and flowers. Today it employs more than 300 people and delivers to customers within a radius of over 250 km. The company is now led by Sonja Weigand together with her son Johannes Weigand.
