Description
De GroenteKaravaan is a market garden in Oosterwold, on the edge of Almere, that grows vegetables, herbs and edible flowers for the local community. It works on the Community Supported Agriculture principle: members take a share for the whole season, which runs from June to December and lasts about 26 weeks, and the harvest is divided among a maximum of 60 vegetable shareholders. Half shares are also available. The garden is run by grower Renée Janssen, who graduated from the organic agriculture school Aeres Warmonderhof and started the business in 2021. More than 70 different vegetables are grown there.
