Description

Berne Abdijbier is a Dutch abbey beer from the Abbey of Berne in Heeswijk-Dinther in North Brabant, the oldest surviving monastic community in the Netherlands. The abbey was founded in 1134 by the knight Fulco of Berne, and its Norbertine monks are the source of the brand, which it describes as the only Dutch Norbertine beer. The beers were brought to market after two recipes were found at the abbey. The range includes Witheren Wit, a wheat and barley malt witbier, and Norbertijn Blond.
