Description

Belvas is a Belgian chocolate maker that produces organic chocolate and describes itself as an organic chocolate factory. All products are certified organic and Fairtrade, and the recipes contain no palm oil, hydrogenated fats, colourings or preservatives. The chocolates, such as caramel, ganache and hazelnut praline, are prepared by hand in the workshop by a team of more than 15 people. Belvas works with partner cooperatives that supply cocoa, coffee and coconut, and it makes bean to bar chocolate. In 2011 it won the EMAS environmental award in the micro-business category from the European Commission.
