Description

Barone di Serramarrocco is a Sicilian wine estate in the foothills of Mount Erice on the western coast of the island, within the DOC Erice wine route. The estate traces its heritage to 1624, when Don Juan Antonio Marrocco y Orioles was made first Baron of Serramarrocco. Its vineyards lie at about 350 metres above sea level in a breezy maritime climate, and its soils combine clay, calcareous sandstone and marly limestone. Grapes are harvested by hand, and vineyard soils are nourished only with organic compost. Its wines include Barone di Serramarrocco, Nero di Serramarrocco, Quojane, Sammarcello, Baglio di Serramarrocco and Il Grillo del Barone.
