Awa Inc.Description
Awa Inc. is an importer of Austrian wine based in Nishinomiya, Hyogo, Japan. The company was founded by its Austrian-born president Norbert Tesch, whose family ran a winery in Burgenland, and began importing in 1994 by buying wine directly from wineries and introducing it to restaurants in Japan. It selects its wines through tastings and discussions with Austrian producers and supplies hotels and restaurants, where sommeliers and chefs have increasingly adopted Austrian wine.
