Description
Assabet Co-op Market is a full-service cooperative grocery store in Maynard, Massachusetts, owned by more than 2,400 members of the community. It describes Maynard as surrounded by the farms that supply it and by communities that value local food. The store takes preorders for holiday items such as pasture-raised turkeys from Lilac Hedge Farm, co-op-made sides, pies, and cheese and charcuterie boards. It also hosts events and classes and is looking at nearby towns for a larger site as it works toward 3,000 member-owners.
