Description

Aloja-Starkelsen is a Latvian potato starch producer, whose story began in 1937 with a small potato processing plant in Ungurpils. It was established as a joint venture in 1991 between the employee cooperative Aloja and the Swedish cooperative Lyckeby, and in 2021 IRLMD Food Solutions acquired the majority stake. The company supplies potato starch and protein for human nutrition, for bakery, dairy and meat analogues, snacks, sweets and mayonnaise. It also supplies animal nutrition products, including pet food and hulls.
