Description

Agroponiente is a Spanish group that produces and markets fruit and vegetables and supplies more than 36 countries. It describes its approach as conscious agriculture, with sustainable and ethical practices from planting to distribution. A team of agricultural engineers and farmers tends the crops, and the group uses biological control as the basis of integrated pest management. The group runs its own packing warehouses and an auction called La Redonda, and publishes catalogues of its vegetables and fruit. It also reports on measures to reduce water use, carbon footprint and energy use and to use waste in a circular economy.
